Hi, Caroline,
I’m listening to you on Dining Around with Gene Burns right now, and would like to invite you to come check out The Barlow in Sebastopol. It is the first of its kind in the nation–an organic business community where consumers can watch the products they will purchase being created–a whole new concept in retail pairing consumer with creator/producer in a ‘down home’ way.
We are hand-picking the businesses we want to have at The Barlow, so please take this communication as a compliment…
Check out our website–www.thebarlow.net, and if you would like to come for a tour and see how you would fit in, please email me at sue@thebarlow.net. 🙂
Hi Sue,
Thanks for the invite! I would love to come check it out- I’ll drop you an e-mail so we can talk more about it.
Please explain what is MASCARPONE? Thank you.
mascarpone is a type of italian cheese. the texture is somewhere between cream cheese and creme fraiche, and it has got a lovely rich, creamy mild flavor. it’s really common in desserts too- it’s what makes tiramisu awesome. I hope you try it!
Love the site! Thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom with the world. I’m curious as to what pressure canner you use? I’m in the market and am researching people I respect. Thank you!
thanks ryan! I don’t use a pressure canner actually- most of what I do is fine for water bath canning. Here’s the canner I use: http://www.amazon.com/Columbian-Home-0707-1-Porcelain-Water-Bath/dp/B0001UZL8A $19 at wal mart! no fancy equipment necessary
I’m glad I found this.
I love the idea of growing our own food, and I think I’m gonna learn a lot here. 🙂
You live in a beautiful part of the world. 200 chickens! I’m envious.
